Peregrine Falcons at We Energies & WPS Power Plants

Since the early 1990’s We Energies has been supporting peregrine falcon recovery efforts at their electric power plants in Wisconsin and Michigan.

In addition to constructing and installing nest boxes at their facilities, they also sponsored the release of 15 captive-produced young peregrines at their Pleasant Prairie Power Plant in 1992.

With nearly 50% of annual peregrine production in Wisconsin occurring at power plants, the continued stewardship of corporations with facilities where they nest remains vital to maintaining the population.

With a strong environmental commitment, We Energies continues to provide homes for peregrines and support their ongoing management. Since 1996, a total 402 peregrines have been produced at We Energies & WPS power plants.
